Skillsome at Heilbronn Slush’D 2025: Turning Slush into Spark

At Skillsome, we believe that every connection has a story and the best ones start in unpredictable weather.

The name Slush itself comes from Helsinki’s early-winter mix of rain, snow, and ice – a symbol of creativity pushing forward no matter the forecast.
This year’s Heilbronn Slush’D carried that same energy: bold, a little chaotic, and full of bright ideas melting into action.

Our CEO Ekaterina Serban and CTO Monisha Rajanna joined the event to explore Germany’s startup landscape and exchange insights with founders, investors, and educators shaping the next wave of innovation.

That Stood Out

Andy Bruckschloegl, Co-Founder of Bits & Pretzels, delivered a memorable “10 Lessons in 10 Minutes” – a refreshingly honest take on what entrepreneurship really looks like after the first storm.

Nico Blier-Silvestri, Partner at Dreamcraft Ventures, shared a VC’s perspective on the AI wave, reminding everyone that hype melts fast if it isn’t grounded in real understanding and financial discipline – a message that mirrors Skillsome’s own approach to sustainable, ethical innovation.

Peter Vesterbacka, Founder of Slush and creator of Angry Birds, took the audience back to the origins of the event – a student movement to strengthen the spirit of entrepreneurship. His story struck a deep chord with our mission to empower the next generation of learners and changemakers.

Although some sessions were fully booked, the pitches our founders witnessed reflected Europe’s growing startup confidence and collaborative energy.

Our Conclusion
